Superfood for Kids

Children ought to be nourished in the best possible way in their early years of growth. Any bit of deficiency during this tender period can become a lifelong ailment. Yes, there are kids who tend to want and love to have tons of non nutritious foods. But you can’t let your kid be driven by the temptations of junk foods and colas.

It is your duty to shape the diet of a child in such a way that both health and taste are looked after. The modern guide of children’s nutrition therefore brings forward a range of superfoods which the young ones must have and if prepared well, they will indeed enjoy them.

Fish is very important

Some kids love to eat fish a lot but there are many who just refuse fish on sight. Still in either case, fish cannot be put off from a child’s diet. The most important nutrient which a fish contains is the omega-3 fatty acids and it is also a core food to supply you with protein. What type of fish can be included in the kid’s main meal? Wild salmon, tuna, Alaskan halibut and albacore are very good choices for children. Along with them you too can benefit from them.

Why fish? Omega-3 fatty acids can be derived from other sources as well. The first reason is fish is readily available. Moreover, young boys and girls won’t make a lot of riff while sitting at the dining table. And no matter what they are given to eat, most kids don’t particularly like berries and lots of vegetables because they consider them to be tasteless and drab. But the most important of all is that the amount of omega-3 fatty acids fish can produce instantly because it cannot be compensated by any other superfood.

Chocolate and Kiwi fruit: kids will want more

It is entirely a wrong belief that chocolates spoil the kids. Researchers and doctors have proved that chocolate is a very rich superfood and a must for growing children. It will be a slight mistake to call chocolate as a superfood, rather it is dark chocolate which is a real superfood.

Theobromine is a key component of the dark chocolate which regulates the function of hormones and controls your blood pressure. On the other hand as a superfood, the dark chocolate functions as an antioxidant and protects your heart. And if things are put right at a young age, chances of such problems at an advanced stage hardly remain.

Kiwi fruit is a vitamin rich fruit and a direct source of Vitamin E and Vitamin C. Both these vitamins are vital for a child’s health. Especially with a vitamin E deficiency, it can cause problems with your kid’s well being. Vitamin E aids in providing strong bones and muscular growth. And Vitamin C nurtures the body’s immunity.

Spinach cannot be avoided

Superfoods have a close relation with the green. Spinach and green leafy vegetables are meant for the over all development of the child’s growth. The minerals (beta-carotene, leutin) and vitamins (folic acid and vitamin C) especially present in spinach cannot be supplemented by any other food source. Even if your child creates a fuss in having those, you will have to compel the little one to eat these superfoods. You can really keep your child away from deadly diseases like cancer and heart disease through this minor supplement like spinach.

Your child might be too little to understand these things. But how can you remain indifferent?
